STAIRS targeted project

A project led by INRAE and RobAgri

Shared Technological Solutions: Impact Analysis, Interoperability, and Resources for the Sustainability of Robotic Systems. The STAIRS project is a national initiative within the framework of the Grand Challenge of Agricultural Robotics (GDRA). It aims to promote innovative robotic solutions in support of sustainable agriculture.

By facilitating the agroecological transition, robotics represents a lever for reducing the environmental impact of agricultural practices. However, its development faces several obstacles:

  • Lack of communication standards between systems,
  • Still limited technical capabilities to meet the requirements of agroecology,
  • A lack of reliable methods for assessing the environmental impacts of implemented technologies.
  • Objectives

To provide common tools to help design, develop, and evaluate robotic solutions.
By establishing standardized methods for agriculture that meet the needs of farmers in the context of ecological transition.
